Temple-Inland Automation Industries Corporations solution for Gypsum
Board Process' starts with the accurate generation of a true
cross machine profile. For this purpose we have developed
two types of frames to house our digital laser heads. As
stated earlier, there is no difference in performance. The
only difference is in where they will fit. When space permits we use the wet transfer area as the
location for our system. The open ended ACCU-SCAN frame is
built to place our digital lasers over the product and allow
the board to move under it in the cross machine direction
(this is not just a couple of lasers and some software! It
is a complete system). The system also has the ability to
automatically retract from the line for calibration at
user-defined intervals. The system uses a differential
measurement to generate the profile shape. With our
sophisticated computer and Perception Series V software it
is possible to display variations from target for the panel
as a whole and for the front and back separately. The system
can also display the face taper in degrees and in
thousandths of an inch increments. The unit also contains a
display for variation from target for tapers as well. All
information is real time. Where space is at a premium, AIC builds a Scanning "O"
Frame that can be equipped with one; two, or three scan
zones. Once again, we want to stress that this is not meant
to be an upgrade. There are lines out there that simply
don't have any room around them. The more scan zones we have
the smaller the stroke becomes making the over all size of
the unit more compact. The biggest difference is that one
unit lets the production flow do the work while the other
uses a precision stepper motor to drive the heads across the
product. As always the performance of our products is
guaranteed. Both ACCU-SCAN models are guaranteed to be with
in +/-0.0025" over an eight hour period with out
recalibration. Our digital laser heads are second to none.
They are FAST, ACCURATE and, ROBUST. Their average life
expectancy is eleven years and counting. One more thing,
they don't cost a fortune to repair. We have an over the
counter exchange program that usually gets to you the next
business day. Every
