Click on Photo to Enlarge Installed at Temple-Inland Our ACCU-SCAN Edge/Width Profiler is sold as an OPTION to our ACCU-SCAN Cross Machine Profilers. However, before we go any further lets define edge and width. The edge is literally the edge. It is not the tapered portion of the face (that is measured and displayed by the cross machine profile systems). The width is the over all size of the product in the cross machine direction. We understand that not all plants will need information on the true edge of their product, nor will they be concerned with the overall width of the product. That is why the unit is an option to our ACCU-SCAN Cross Machine Profile Systems. The unit is designed to fit online prior to the knife. To take the measurements we use our model 803E long-range digital laser head. This model is designed to take measurements at a greater distance from the product. As such we can read the edge of both 48" and 54" product without requiring any movement of the heads. This is because the laser head has an active window of 6.5". Even at this longer range, we still guarantee the performance to be within +/-0.005" online for eight hours without recalibration. Once installed in conjunction with an ACCU-SCAN Profiler the data of the Edge/Width Profiler is accessible to the network and connectivity is via TCP/IP. The data is also part of the historian feature. Every ACCU-SCAN Edge/Width Profiler option comes with our FORM, FIT and FUNCTION based continuing support and, a PROOF of PERFORMANCE guarantee. |
