The picture at the left shows two of our three laser head models. Notice the difference in size? This is because each head is designed to take ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS within a specific thickness range! "One size fits all" is NOT part of our design mantra.

In these days of computerized everything, people sometimes forget that the computer and software is not all serving. In Process Control Applications, the accuracy of the sensing devices determines the limit of the process improvement that can be reliably achieved. Here at AIC we design and build our own sensors. We designed our sensors to fit the application. They are purpose built to take measurements and find defects. Our transducers are the absolute state of the art in their respective areas. Each model is backed by our proof of performance guarantee.

Our laser sensors have resolutions that are more than three times finer than a human hair. Depending on your application we have a number of solutions for measuring thickness or generating cross machine profiles of various shapes. Our application engineering assures the proper fit for you. Our proof of performance guarantee minimizes the risk for you.

In the Real Estate industry they say the three most important things about property are the location, location, location. When it comes to taking thickness measurements the three most important things are ACCURACY, ACCURACY, ACCURACY. The first question anyone should ask is what does that mean to me? It means this: for the sake of easy math let's assume that the cost of your raw materials is $20,000.00 per 0.001" of product thickness per 100mmsf of product produced by the plant annually. Without doing any math I think the question answers itself. Any prudent manufacturer cannot afford to not have accurate thickness control.

The typical on-line mechanical/analog device can generally maintain about 0.030"accuracy, air coupled ultrasonic thickness gauges are even less accurate (we ought to know, we build more ultrasound based devices than anyone). Our systems deliver the accuracy required to realize control to the full capability of your process.....we can match accuracy to your application. The question then becomes, can you afford to not have the best?

When it comes to the science of Non-Destructive Testing using Air-Coupled Ultrasound WE HAVE NO PEERS! AIC has more Ultrasonic internal defect detectors installed on-line than any other company. Our Quality Assurance Systems have logged over 10,000,000 hours and inspected over 150,000,000 panels. AIC has numerous installations on-line fully supported that have been in place for over 20 years. That is longer than any of our competitors have been in business!

Because we understand the problems of process control and build our sensors to perform their best under harsh conditions, AIC has been able to solve problems for many different types of industry. The links on this page will give you more information on our solutions for many types of process control issues.

If you don't see your industry listed contact us and, see why 700 other companies have. We listen; we care, and look forward to working with you.
